Land Use, Taxation, Labor, Housing, and Rural Health Committee
Meets second Monday of the month at 4:00 pm
This committee reviews and recommends to the NCFB Board of Directors issues relating to current Land Use, Labor, Housing, Tax and Rural Health topics. For 2009, the committee will: 1) Participate in the county's Housing Element update and review cities Housing Element updates to achieve city centered growth that meets and not exceeds state housing mandates; 2) Protect agriculture's interest in the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition; 3) Monitor the Napa Pipe Redevelopment project to ensure that it helps meet, but does not exceed, the housing needs of Napa County; and, 4) Monitor the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission & other agencies as time allows to promote and protect agriculture.
Natural Resources Committee
Meets first Wednesday of the month at 4:00 pm
Review and recommend to the board of directors issues relating to current Natural Resources topics. Currently this committee is working on AB2121.
Ag Education Committee
Meets third Thursday of the month at 4:00 pm
This committee is the planning mechanism for the Napa County Farm Bureau’s “Ag in the Classroom” (AITC) program. This program offers agricultural education to local schools by making a variety of ag curriculum and lesson plans available to teachers.
Community and Membership Outreach Committee
Meets second Tuesday of the month at 12:00 pm
This committee focuses on outreach activities to increase Farm Bureau’s presence in the community. It also works on membership issues such as recruiting new and retaining existing members.
Livestock Commodity Group Meets quaterly as needed. Provides networking and commodity education to livestock producers.
