Compliance agreement for winegrapes within the European Grapevine Moth quarantine area

The Agricultural Commissioner’s office offers a series of meetings to issue compliance agreements for the movement and receiving of winegrapes during harvest, Napa County Farm Bureau members are encouraged to attend.
The Agricultural Commissioner’s office must issue a compliance agreement to each grower, harvester, hauler or receiver (wineries) of winegrapes within the European Grapevine Moth (EGVM) quarantine area who will be moving or receiving winegrapes. This is a tremendous undertaking and to be as efficient as possible, the Agricultural Commissioner’s office are holding meetings to review the EGVM quarantine restrictions stated in the compliance agreement for growers, harvesters, haulers, and receivers. After the review, staff from the office will be available to issue compliance agreements to all the attendees. The meetings have been scheduled for:
  • Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 6:00 pm, UC Cooperative Extension, 1710 Soscol Ave, Napa
  • Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 9:00 am, UC Cooperative Extension, 1710 Soscol Ave, Napa
  • Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 4:00 pm, UC Cooperative Extension, 1710 Soscol Ave, Napa
  • Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 1:00 pm, UC Cooperative Extension, 1710 Soscol Ave, Napa
IMPORTANT - You will not be allowed to harvest, move, or receive winegrapes unless you obtain a compliance agreement. The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office will be issuing these documents at these meetings.
Please call the Agricultural Commissioner’s office  at (707) 253-4357 to let them know which meeting you will attend.
If you cannot attend one of the meetings listed above, please contact the Agricultural Commissioner’s office to make other arrangements. Again, you must have a compliance agreement in order receive winegrapes, to haul winegrapes, or to harvest and move winegrapes from property you own or operate.

Support the statewide PD/GWSS Assessment!
Workshop, March 15th at Yountville Community Center

Since 2001, the Pierce’s Disease/Glassy-Winged Sharpshooter (PD/GWSS) assessment has been one of the primary sources of funding for research on Pierce’s disease and its primary vector, the glassy-winged sharpshooter. Senate Bill 2 gives winegrape growers and grower/vintners the opportunity to vote on continuing the assessment until 2016.  Ballots will be mailed to all winegrape growers on March 29th and NCFB urges a YES vote.

In partnership with Napa Valley Grapegrowers and Napa Valley Vintners, we will hold an informational workshop on March 15th from 9-11 am.  Please attend to find out more about this successful program.
