The mission of the NAPA COUNTY FARM BUREAUis to ensure the proper political, social, and economic climate for the continuation of a strong, viable and sustainable agricultural economy. This is done through advocacy and education in order to preserve and protect the agricultural land and other natural resources that provide a high quality of life for all rural and urban citizens of Napa County.
- Support the initiative to extend Measure J
- Advocacy in the county General Plan update to sustain our agricultural heritage
- Promote sustainable and organic agriculture
- Monitor and testify at all countyBoard of Supervisors and Planning Commission meetings that have issues pertaining to agriculture
- Enhance and encourage land stewardship and conservation
- Expand agricultural education and awareness through Agriculture in the Classroom
- Protect water rights and supply
Vision 2010
It is the year 2010. NapaCounty is known for its rural landscape - a mosaic of productive agricultural lands, grasslands, and forested hillsides. This landscape is a source of pride for county residents who have fought and won the battle to preserve and protect agricultural lands, natural resources, and open space from urban sprawl and development. The Napa County Farm Bureau is one of the county’s major voices for land stewardship and agricultural sustainability. Due to the NCFB’s efforts, the majority of the agricultural commodities in NapaCounty are produced using agricultural practices that are sustainable ecologically, economically, and socially. The Napa County Farm Bureau is a tireless advocate for agricultural and open space preservation and conservation.
